How to put an end to emotional eating for good
To end your emotional eating problem you must follow a few important steps. Fortunately there are not a lot of steps to follow. YOu only need to follow a few simple steps and you’re emotional eating problem will be gone for good.
First, make a list of all the situations that you overeat in. Sure this list might be long and a bit overwhelming at first. Some people have up to 30 items on their list! Don’t despiar, I’ll show you how to handle this overwhelm in a minute.’
Second, make an estimate of which situations cause you the most trouble. Which situations happen the most often. Once you know what they are you can now go to the next step.
Third, prioritize each situation according to how often it happens as you found out in step two. This is very important as we are going to use this numerical prioritization in the next step.
Fourth, start with item number 1 on your list and focus on it completely. We are going to come up with alternative ways to get your needs met other than eating for just this one situation.
Fifth, find out what you want to get out of eating in that situation. Is it to get comfort? Is it to calm stress? Is it just for the sheer pleasure? Once you find out go to the next step.
Sixth, now find other ways of getting what you needed fromthe fifth step. Find other ways to get calm, if you eat to get calm. Find other ways to de-stress if you use it for de-stressing.
Seventh, implment your strategies you created in step six and measure your improvement as you practice each day.
Eight, go back to the next item on the list from step three. Keep repeating this until you are free of emotional eating.
