How To Lose Weight With Running
Many of us know how to run and lose weight, what most of us don’t think about is how much running can benefit your health as well as this. In fact I probably could write a book on that subject.
Running is an exercise one can do alone, with friends, outdoors or indoors, virtually any time of day, and it tends to be something people either love or dread. Although a lot of people who start out thinking they dislike running end up enjoying it. They were able to push through the mental block and see the health benefits that go with running.
What is the best way to run and lose weight? We should begin with some quick tips on running.
Some Running Basics:
1. Begin by stretching before you run. Focus mainly on your calf muscles and legs. That way, you will increase your flexibility and keep you from incurring muscle injuries or strains.
2. Start your running workout at a slow pace. You have to give your body some time to adjust to your new active routine. I would recommend this for about two to three minutes, a little longer if you are inexperienced.
3. Once you have completed your warm up, increase your speed to a jogging speed. Keeping in mind that this is the speed that you will be dropping back to after your run. You should feel comfortable at this speed, with smooth, steady and balanced strides.
4. After you jog at this pace, increase to an even quicker, yet still controllable pace. Running is the key to how you lose weight. If you are on a treadmill, you may want to increase the incline at this point, this will greatly increase your body’s ability to burn fat.
5. Alternate your routine between a steady jogging and running. Those just starting out with running only need to workout for thirty to forty-five minutes, and more experienced athletes might consider running for sixty to ninety minutes.
Those are the basics for what is called High Intensity Interval Training. Using HIIT allows your body to burn fat at its very fastest.
So why run in order to lose weight?
The most obvious positive feature of running is that you will undoubtedly use a greater number of calories than you would if you simply walked or remained at rest. Running has long been recognized as among the most effective cardiovascular workouts for calorie burning.
If you also start eating a healthier diet while running 3 days a week, you will certainly lose weight, without a shadow of a doubt. Also, this kind of workout utilizes and strengthens the legs, lungs, hands and heart. With your lungs being exercise you are able to breathe deeper. When you can breath more deeply your lungs are able to draw in more oxygen for your body, which actually helps it to burn off fat.
Lastly, you will achieve a decrease in blood pressure, an increase in circulation, and will experience greater relaxation.
